“I want to make a difference and believe that I can”
David is passionate about our young people and empowering them to think for themselves and be committed to building a better world than the one they are inheriting.
Turning aspirations into ambitions and ambitions into realities.
He believes the best way to to do that is to help the people who work with our children. By offering support, analysis, approaches and tools to recognise their strengths and find the energy to, in turn, guide our young people to find their own strengths and direction in life.
For these are all our children, we will all profit by or pay for what they become.

WHO IS ‘THE REAL DAVID CAMERON’?
THE PRESENT
David is an experienced Speaker, Trainer, Consultant and Mentor in all areas of education and children’s services. In whatever capacity you work with him you can be assured you will be supported, encouraged and inspired while you reach for your goals.
There will be some banging tunes, a few heart rending videos and a lot of laughter prompted by David’s, at times, irreverent sense of humour.
All David’s experience of speaking at conferences both throughout the UK and abroad, his extensive work in schools and his collaborations with some of the most influential and best practitioners in the world of education and training will be harnessed to make your event, training session or conversation as valuable as possible, leaving you and your audience feeling energised and ready to take action that will support your young people on their journey to adulthood.
David, when not working, can be found living in the countryside, dealing with horses he doesn’t own and walking a dog he didn’t want. He also cycles – which he does like!
THE PAST
Lest you think David is a mere chancer with a line in motivational quotes here is his professional pedigree. It might not be Crufts worthy but it has served him pretty well!
Before striking out on his own David worked in numerous roles including Director of Children’s Services for Stirling Council, Head of Education in East Lothian and an Area Manager for schools in Fife.
He was President of the Association of Directors of Education Scotland and has been involved with a range of national groups notably on Curriculum for Excellence, Outdoor Education and Looked After Children.
As a consultant, David has supported Midlothian Council in a reorganisation of services and engaged with Skills development Scotland in a major review of policy procedures and practice.
But before all the TEDx talks, podcasts and management roles David started out as a classroom teacher and knows first hand the energy and commitment needed. He is a fierce defender of all those who work with our young people and continues to use all his experience to help and support them.
The point is to get your work done, and your work is to change the world.
